Friendship Drive

The Friends of Guilford Green campaign was created to further extend the reach of Guilford Green Foundation’s goal of uniting community by funding local LGBT initiatives. Since 1996, money from the Friendship Drive has assisted GGF in providing more than $550,000 in funding to various non-profit organizations in the greater Guilford County area. Click for more!

Top Reasons to Fund the Guilford Green Foundation

  • GGF is part of a national network of Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender (LGBT) community foundations in North America that raises funds to support LGBT issues.  GGF is the only foundation of its kind in the U.S. Southeast.
  • GGF is a granting organization and has given over $550,000 in 10 years to organizations whose funded projects accurately align with GGF's mission and are making a positive impact in the region.
  • Programs and activities of GGF focus on uniting society in total, not only members of the LGBT community.
  • Self-assesment is critical to the success of GGF.  UNCG recently conducted an in-depth study of GGF's offerings and activities and their effectiveness in the region.  Results will be delivered in late 2009 and the findings will serve as a template for GGF's next strategic plan.
  • In order to insure the stable fiscal future GGF, the exisiting endowment of $300,000 must be grown.  GGF cannot rely solely on future fundraising and special events for operating income.
  • GGF depends on the generous gifts of its members through its annual membership campaign, The Friendship Drive, to support its ongoing expenses.
  • GGF does not only serve the residents of the City of Greensboro, but reaches into surrounding communities through its grants, community programs and activities.

 

Guilford Green Legacy Circle

The Guilford Green Foundation has established the Legacy Circle to recognize supporters who leave a portion of their estates to strengthen the economic security of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community for years to come.  Planned gifts are a way to leave your legacy and to meet the needs of the future LGBT generations, including needs that none of us can possible predict today.

You can start to create your own legacy by making a gift to the Guilford Green Foundation through your financial and estate plans. Our Endowment

Since 1998, GGF has grown a permanent endowment at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. Gifts to the GGF Endowment help sustain the success of GGF forever. Gifts can be made to the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro with Guilford Green Foundation Endowment in the memo line.

Volunteer

Guilford Green Foundation's success has been built on the grassroots efforts of our volunteers. Volunteering with GGF provides opportunities to build skills, meet people and 'unite community.'
